Jack didn’t go after Ross right after his father passed away because, like John, he had something to lose, his mother. That’s why he went after Ross only after his mother’s death, he had nothing else to lose and had nothing else that could hold him.

In both red dead games the main character ends up dying

I was in such denial that it ended the way it did that I restarted to an earlier save thinking I could win the dead eye moment before John is shot up.

I love the final confrontation between Ross and Jack. It's a situation where technically nobody is wrong. Sure, Ross was a heartless bastard, but he also just did his job. Had John not been in a dangerous gang for half his life, committing crime after crime, then Ross never would've come for him. But because of the way Ross did it, Jack in turn came for Ross. I love how essentially it's a cautionary tale of what goes around comes around.

I asked my son, who recently turned 13, to one day play Red Dead 2 and THEN Red Dead 1 (no matter if they never do a Remastered version).. There's so much to learn about life through these two games..

John really turned out to be a great, patient father. That hug was tough. John knew what was coming 🥹 Also, hate to say it, but the music, acting and gameplay in this is shite compared to RDR2. It’d definitely be cool to get a remake of this with some mentions of Arthur.

As sad as it is, I find it funny how Jack and John keep yelling when Uncle dies, as if he wasnt supposed to have a death cutscene.

Damn, this hits even harder after playing the epilogue of rdr 2... the saddest thing is, Jack became what John and Abigail never wanted him to be, an outlaw like John himself... just shows there's no escape from your past no matter how good you're presently

I really love how the entire red dead redemption 1 sountrack is made with dozens of stems and its amazing. For example at 5:20 the music was pretty dramatic for the guy who recorded this video but for me there was no music. Its completely random (except for actual tracks like triggernometry etc etc) and because of that when in free roam you do something cool and the music understands the assingment its legendary. I would also like to appologize for my large amount of yapping and rip john
